Alexander Chevalier
Ambrose FSC Assistant Skating Director

Born in Nottingham, England, to a French father and British mother, Alexander Chevalier began skating at the age of nine. Over the next twenty years, his achievements included one silver and two bronze medals at the British Championships, and a bronze medal at the 1975 European Championships.

In 1981, at age 30, Alex retired from competition to start a family and begin performing in tours and exhibitions. His professional career continued until 1987, when an automobile accident partially disabled his right leg. After his recovery, he did extensive administrative work with the British National Ice Skating Association, then turned to coaching in 1993. In early 2003, his former competitor Malcolm Redgrave offered him a position at the Ambrose Figure Skating Club, which he accepted.

Alex now resides in the Lincoln Hills suburb of Ambrose with a full house: his third wife Roberta, his daughter Jeanette, his stepdaughters Sandra and Denise, his mother Priscilla, and three Belgian Malinois dogs.
